Position Purpose:
The systems engineer will work with the development engineering to document the requirements, design and development of Windows and Linux based products. Working with the engineering team members, the systems engineer will participate in all phases of the product development life-cycle including business cases, product scoping, requirements definition, detailed use case descriptions, system specifications, verification plans, clinical trial plans and outcome reports.
Reporting To: Director of Systems Engineering
Responsibilities/Tasks:
The systems engineer is technically literate in both the business domain of medical imaging and information systems development, as well as being skilled at conceptualizing and communicating product ideas within the development team. Comfortable in working with a wide variety of technical and non-technical people, the software engineer combines creativity and communication skills with pragmatic understanding of project timelines, product economics and technology constraints and opportunities.
- Document the product technical requirements and design.
- Document the product verification and integration plans.
- Participate in code walk-throughs and design reviews
- Design and develop test fixtures and scripts for product verification.
- Conduct unit testing on code components, and integration testing with grouped components.
- Assure that all defects are entered, reported, and updated.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 1-3 years C/C++/Java programming experience in Linux/UNIX and/or Windows.
- Self-disciplined and organized
- Works effectively within a team as well as independently.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Product requirements analysis and definition
- Verification plan execution and results analysis
- Clinical trial planning and results analysis
- Hardware/software integration knowledge
Additional Desired Skills:
- Web-based /Java development experience
- Experience with relational database management systems.
- Experience with network programming in a client/server environment
- Experience in medical imaging or healthcare environment
Academic Qualifications:
