Job Title: Senior Software Developer (Quick Response Team)
Reports to: Support Manager/QRT Lead
Job Purpose
As a member of the Quick Response Team (QRT), the Senior Developer is
responsible for the maintenance of all production application source
code. The role includes investigating problems reported to the AJB
Support Desk, making the appropriate code changes, testing the changes,
and providing a new release in a timely manner.
The Developer is also responsible for maintaining a close working
relationship with other departments to ensure an integrated approach to
the achievement of service delivery to our customers. The Developer will
also provide feedback to the Development Group to help improve our core
products.
Duties & Responsibilities
The following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of
this job. Activities with greater time allocation are placed toward the
top of the list. The tasks and the time spent performing each task may
vary as business needs arise. AJB Software Design Inc. maintains the
right to modify job duties and responsibilities at its discretion.
Core Duties
1. Investigate problems tickets as assigned by the QRT Lead or the
Support Manager.
2. Suggest change to correct problem with other QRT members.
3. Code changes and compile fixes in accordance with AJB standards.
4. Test changes to ensure the desired functionality.
5. Provide a new release of the code.
6. Enhance existing components and applications.
7. Attend conference calls with Project Managers and customers to
assist in the problem determination process.
8. Report progress on problem tickets as necessary.
9. Support the development team by providing feedback
10. Setup test environments and install new software.
11. Continual learning about AJB products and services.
12. Support and mentor other software developers.
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform
each essential duty adequately. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

Work experience required: Minimum 5 years.

Ø Proficient in C/C++ and object oriented development.
Ø Sound knowledge of problem-solving and debugging techniques.
Ø Knowledge of data networks, operating systems, financial
transactions, and POS functionality.
Ø Knowledge of TCP/IP network and sockets programming.
Ø Experience with retail applications and technology.
Ø Knowledge of communication protocols, LAN, WAN, and device
drivers.
Ø Knowledge of Windows NT/2K/XP, OS/2, and Linux internals.
Ø Experience with smart cards, POS devices and wireless data
networks.
Soft skills requirements:
Ø Strong problem solving skills
Ø Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal
skills;
Ø Strong time-management and organizational skills with great
attention to detail
Ø Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
