The Vancouver Island, especially the Victoria area, is not regarded as a conservative area at all. The MPs are either NDP, Liberal, or Green. So I didn't expect many people coming to this rally, which is in a community centre of a small town, Sidney, about 30 minutes away from downtown Victoria.
To my surprise, the parking lots are totally full! Not only the parking lots of the community centre, but also of the nearby plazas. It took me quite a while to find a spot a few hundred meters away.

There is no security check at the entrance. Just a guy standing there, holding a stack of placards. He politely and cautiously asks me, do you want one?

There is a gymnasium in the community centre, totally packed! I'm not good at doing estimation, but I think there are more than 1000 people. I'm really surprised. Never thought there are so many Conservative Party members in the area!

Pierr Poilievre is very down-to-earth. He's not physically tall. But he's very sincere. His speech is not long, just less than 30 minutes, but he does a great job! No teleprompter, no scripts, he just talks.
His speech is also entertaining. He uses lots of examples to explain his points, the reasoning is simple, making sense, and powerful. There is no empty slogans. Basically what he says to me are just about common sense. The sad fact is that common sense nowadays is rare among politicians.
His speech is interrupted by applauses, over and over.

After the speech, he stays and talks with the patrons. He promises to stay till the last patron leaves, as he did in previous rallies. This one is actually the last rally of his campaign!
People line up to talk to him. The line is long!
