Overview: Background: *This is a fixed price contract *Selected candidate(s) will be required to prepare the "Understanding of the assignment" for our submission to this order **Responsibilities: *Develop a Detailed Technical Assessment Report (4-7 pages) of the current Screen Scraping middleware technology. The Report should pin point deficiencies, if any, in the following areas: -Screen Scraping Adapter (design and coding) -Cyberprise software (limitation and supportability) -Production hardware infrastructure (capacity/performance) -Network connectivity from middleware server to AS/400 back-end -transactions (used for the Screen Scraping process) *Develop an Optimization Alternatives and Options Reports (6-9 pages) that outlines two major alternatives and options within each alternative: -Replacement alternative - a list of high-level middleware technology and architecture options to replace the Screen Scraping middleware -Enhancement alternative - a list of fixes, enhancements, and upgrade options that can be applied to the current Screen Scraping middleware *The report should include pros/cons, timeline and cost estimates in the development and testing of each alternative/option *Depending on the optimization alternative/option selected by the client, design and code a Solution Prototype for testing purpose *Conduct Load-and-Stress testing of the Solution Prototype and provide test results to prove that the stability and response time objectives have been achieved *Develop technical documents according to the RUP methodology *Provide weekly status on the progress of the activities *Provide required level of support in performance issue resolution *The completion of the assignment is subject to the Client's approval of the delivered artifacts *Consultation with Architecture and Planning regarding options and preferred architecture directions
Skills Required: Mandatory: *Must possess the following skills: -C/C++ and Java/J2EE for enterprise applications development -Experience with data modeling and database design -Highly developed analytical, problem solving and decision making -Good communication skills and fluent in technical writing -Ability to lead a small team, work independently and good team player -Understand and can apply Rational Unified Process Methodology -Hands on experience using UML *Expert level of knowledge with Screen Scraping and other middleware technologies *Prior hands-on experience with Wall Data Cyberprise and/or IBM Host Publisher software *Advanced C/C++ and HLLAPI Programming skills: -Must have 5+ years of mission-critical application design experience -Must have 5+ years of C/C++ programming experience -Must have 3+ years of HLLAPI programming experience *Advanced Database Skills: -Must have 5+ years of SQL programming -Must have 3+ years of Oracle 8i experience -Database Design *MQSeries and MQSI Skills: -Must have 3+ years of MQSerious experience -Must have 3+ years of MQSI (and Neon) experience *AS/400 Transaction Processing knowledge **Highly Desirable: *Previous experience with or knowledge of the following application knowledge would be beneficial: -OBC middle-tier systems - Clearinghouse Release 1 (CLH R1), Wholesaler Connectivity System (WCP), Integrated Business Services Application (IBSA) and Business Registrations Online (BRO) -CPPSB back-end system - ONBIS
