if you find no one would be able to work with you anymore and each time you have to settle difference with your boss and colleague face to face, you are in deep trouble.
Canadians like possitive attitude. Even if you are right and they are wrong. you will not win by proving they are wrong and you are right. It is right that you should always maitain the principle of integrity and due dilligence of your work. This is why you are being paid. My job asks me to process thousands customers' orders everyday and they all need to be right. Even if you achieve a 99.9999% of accurate rate. For the one customer, you are 100% wrong.
In the same time, you have to be cool especially when situations arise that ask you to handle difficult situations and dealing with people.
No matter how good we are. English is our second language and Canadian culture is different and some people will treat us differently just because of our color and race. Therefore, we have to be extra care and have higher emtional intelligence than our peers. You have to earn the trust from your boss and peers. You have to learn how to cope with difference and try to hold the team together to work for the company's goal.
This is what I learnt from corporate Canada. Remember, we are not perfect person. Think about this, what if next time when you guys sit together again and your data is wrong. Do not tell me it will never happen. I know the biggest bias in statistics is human biase.
