EI & Vacation pay question.

My due date is aroud September 20. I am going to stop work on September 11. I still have 8 days vacation. I want to take the 8 days vacations first and then begin the maturity leave. but today, from the goverment website, i see the following sentence:"Earnings, for example,vacation pay, severance pay... made or allocated during the 2-week waiting period will be deducted in the first 3 weeks for which benefit is otherwise payable following the waiting period."

Is that means that my EI benefit will be deduct because my vacation pay?or I can calculate like that : from September 11, the company pay the 8 days vacations and then I begin to calculate the EI period? Which one is correct? anyone know the answer?

    • Had similar experience. My company requires to start M leave on/before due date. So, if you stop working on Sept 11th, after 8days on vacation, Your M Leave will be started on -jello(JELLO); 2006-8-3 {190} (#3120926@0)
      Sept 20th. However, Goverment EI is caculated by the week fr Sun-Sat. So your waiting period will be fr Sept 24th. That means you will lose Sept 21&22 unpaid either by EI or by your company.
