I can't type Chinese here in office, so have to use English. I don't know much French, as most of us ;-)
My daughter is in the Grade 1 FI from this Spet. I went to their school before the school year started, and what I heard were all good, and I can see only "better" students are eligible to this problem, so I decided to get her in.
So far she loves the school. Her agenda is well organized, she has homework everyday and I can see her improvement in French is quite promising, and she is proud of that too. That's all good.
The not very good things are,
1, As others, I am afraid of her English level, in a long run.
Because after she joined FI, I heard a lot of people saying that FI students will have English problem later on (especially writing and communication). I don't know whether they got such impression from personal experiences or from hearing others, but that really makes me worry.
Do you aware any ways to improve their English level? I heard Library may have some programs, but not sure which.
2, Our French is Qubec French, may not be good if she further use abroad
3, French now is dropping from 2nd biggest language, Mandarin is more popular now.
So, I am kind of hesitate now. Any one can share with us, what's the English level a normal English grade 3 student has? Is there any benchmark there?
