晚上临睡前习惯性的按着遥控器上下搜索，看到了《Beowulf》
这个名字，以为又是一个关于吸血鬼或者怪物的恐怖片。本来我是不喜欢血腥暴力的片子的，这时候却一心想着，随便找个片子看两眼就睡觉了。
影片开始在Heorot王国，King Hrothgar和Queen Wealtheow和他们的臣民庆祝新的Mead Hall的落成。欢歌笑语在怪兽Grendel 的闯入并大开杀戒中血腥的中断了。原来《Beowulf》是个类似《Shrek》的3D动画片，故事情节源自于丹麦古代英雄Beowulf杀怪兽，保护人民的传说。说实话，《Beowulf》的动画制作不如《Shrek》细腻，人物动作略微僵硬，这一点也让我一开始就有点失望。不过人物制作上却很让我惊讶，King Hrothgar的面部和演员Anthony Hopkins的脸几乎一模一样，而且可以听得出就是Anthony Hopkins配的音。后来看介绍才知道，《Beowulf》动画制作中使用了'motion capture process' ,用数字方式记录演员的动作包括表情，难怪片子中的人物造型这么逼真了。不过，我想这大概也是为什么动作会比较僵硬了，毕竟这么大的数据处理的工程量是非常庞大的。
“In the motion capture session, the movements of one or more actors are sampled many times per second. High resolution optical motion capture systems can be used to sample body, facial and finger movement at the same time.
A motion capture session records only the movements of the actor, not his/her visual appearance. These movements are recorded as animation data which are mapped to a 3D model (human, giant robot, etc.) created by a computer artist, to move the model the same way. This is comparable to the older technique of rotoscope where the visual appearance of the motion of an actor was filmed, then the film used as a guide for the frame by frame motion of a hand-drawn animated character.“ --- From Wikipedia
勇士Beowulf是个在关键时刻出现拯救人民的英雄。他杀死了怪兽Grendel，并且在Horn of Hrothgar的光芒下找到了Grendel's Mother盘踞的洞穴。然而，英雄难过美人关，特别是当这个美女不但拥有无比的美貌，充满诱惑的身体，而且向他许下无数权利与财富的美丽承诺的时候。Beowulf屈服在了这Demon妖艳的诱惑中，失去了Horn of Hrothgar，一夜过后返回了Heorot。英雄的谎言比一般人的更具有欺骗性，盼望安定生活的人们相信了Beowulf的故事。Beowulf成为了King Beowulf, 并成功地获取了Queen Wealtheow的芳心。
然而种瓜得瓜，种豆得豆；如果种下了邪恶，会结出什么样的果子呢？随着Horn of Hrothgar和Fierce Dragon的出现，Heorot再次陷入了恐慌，Beowulf知道他与Demon的契约到期了。唯一能赎罪的方式就是吞下自己的恶果。Beowulf用自己的死，再次证明了他是个英雄，也同时把自己的罪恶一同掩埋了。
新的国王Wiglaf 注视着烈焰中装载Beowulf的船，在桅杆倒下的那一刻，他看到一个身影从空中轻轻落到船上，缓缓亲吻着已经冰冷的Beowulf。沙滩上Horn of Hrothgar金灿灿的光芒刺的Wiglaf睁不开眼睛。在金色光芒下，水中缓缓走来了一个满身金黄，带着妩媚微笑的女人......
