prejudice is everywhere, it's unavoidable for human being, got to learn to live with it,

prejudice is everywhere, it's unavoidable for human being, got to learn to live with it, it's about the same in both countries, but life style is different, it's more laid back (less violence) but more expensive in Canada, professional jobs are less in Canada. taking different perspective, you'll come to diff. conclusion, lots of people here discuss good and bad in both countries, it's really depends on you, what lifestyle, what do you value the most. in certain life stage, you may have diff. values.
good luck!

      • That's true.
    • refer to the official site, everything is there in terms of qualification, processing time, better than word of mouth: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp
normally you should get enough points with your background, regular full-time employee don't have contracts, just employer letter works,
u asked when to apply, shouldn't u ask yourself? everything in Canada is first come first serve, not like greencard in the states
no need to take YaSi, toefl is good enough to prove your English ability, but u need to write a letter to explain

the above is based on my personal experience, hope that helps.
      • Canana offers more equality for the non-elite.
Not everyone is a Secratary of State or President.

    • 小弟,小弟, how is your spoken English? If you are not technically strong you would have to have super strong communications skills or you may have to start doing labor first.
        • OK, call me then I will tell you. You would get a job easily as a casino dealer just like in Las Vegas.

      • Well said. Thanks. I have been in the US for 7 years and worked my ass off.
As I got older, family and some non-monetary values started to weigh in. I have made my mark in the US. Moving to Canada, I want to have a decent job, but at the same time, work a little less and better attend to my personal life and be myself. Am I a good candidate or am I asking for too much?

        Thanks....
