Ever wonder how Alias Grace would’ve come to Toronto? Or how it was founded by Governor Simcoe 175 years ago?
Why … by sail of course!
Toronto has a long nautical history – and there is no better way to re-connect with it on a hot & muggy Toronto afternoon, than with a cooling sail down by the lake – so why not learn how with one of Toronto’s best kept secrets? The Westwood Sailing Club – in the heart of Toronto’s redeveloping waterfront.
This non-profit, volunteer club has been teaching adults to sail small craft since 1967 – without the expense of purchasing a boat!

Event information:
For the brave, we offer quick sails into Toronto's amazing Outer Harbour on our sailing dinghies (See Photo, Conditions & Capacity Permitting - Adults Only! You may get wet!). Sailing is also one of best, environmentally friendly ways to view the incredible wild life along the Leslie Street Spit.
We'll take groups on tours of our unique clubhouse – introduce the basic concepts of sailing and bring people up close & personal with our small craft.
Few cities in the world offer such an inexpensive introduction to sailing for adults – especially in a protected freshwater harbour.
