1, Prerequisites: Grade 10 Practical Examination; Advanced Rudiments (Grade 2 Rudiments); History 1: An Overview (Grade 3 History); History 2: Middle Ages to Classical (Grade 4 History); Intermediate Harmony (Grade 4 Harmony); or Intermediate Keyboard Harmony (Grade 4 Keyboard Harmony);
2, Practical Examinations: Performer's ARCT;
3, Practical Co-requisites: Grade 6 Piano Examination (for all disciplines except Accordion, Guitar, Harp, and Piano);
4, Theory Co-requisites: Counterpoint (Grade 4 Counterpoint); Advanced Harmony(Grade 5 Harmony and Counterpoint); or Advanced Keyboard Harmony (Grade 5 Keyboard Harmony); History 3: 19 Century to Present (Grade 5 History); Analysis (Grade 5 Analysis);
B, for Teacher's ARCT Diploma:
1, Prerequisites: same as above;
2, Practical Examinations: Teacher's ARCT Part 1 (Performance of Repertoire; Technical Requirements; Ear Tests; Sight Reading); Teacher's ARCT Part 2 (Viva Voce); Teacher's ARCT Part 3 (written);
3, Practical Co-requisites: Grade 8 Piano Examination (for all disciplines except Accordion, Guitar, Harp, and Piano);
4, Theory Co-requisites: same as above;
Those theory requirement are pretty hard(intellectually speaking, no offensive though)--it requires one to have the intelligent to understand those(especially for Harmony, Counterpoint, & Analysis) , so, most of kids will learn/take the exams after, like older than age 15, not good for too young. However, few very smart kids do take these exams and are able to get very good grade.
For the practice part, many young kid(like, younger than 10) can play up to G10!
