Applications Specialist
We are looking for a motivated, team-oriented and energetic individual to fill the position of Applications Specialist at KELK (Vishay Precision Group Canada ULC).
This position reports to the Manager, Applications Support - Optical Products.
SUMMARY:
The Applications Specialist/Engineer is responsible for setting up and system testing of KELK Accu-products in the lab, commissioning, annual field service, emergency field service,
on-site training programs to our customers, office to site support, in-house support for product development and design maintenance.
DUTIES:
• Application Engineering, Assistance to Sales, defining scope of supply
• Coordinate project activities on an interdepartmental basis, wiring diagrams, parts lists, communication protocols, specifications for custom features, and training material.
• Engineering activities necessary for the completion of customers' orders
• Configure and adapt KELK products and documentation to meet customer requirements.
• Create, update and use product test procedures and manuals.
• Stage testing of systems at KELK, leading FAT and witness testing.
• Supervise installation, lead commissioning and provide followup service on site.
• Provide technical assistance to Sales, Production, and customers in person and remotely
• Perform design maintenance activities, including writing ECNs, and sourcing replacement parts.
• Write commissioning reports.
• Other duties as assigned and approved by management
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Proficient in spread sheets, scilab, and presentation software
• Strong and Efficient Communication Skills (oral and written)
• Ability to analyze data and write technical reports
• Excellent Customer Service and presentation skills
• Project management abilities
• Independently manage customers during field assignments
• Clear confident delivery, presentation skills, and mechanical aptitude
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Electronics
Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field as Electronics Engineer/Technologist
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS:
Must hold a valid passport
Able to travel worldwide, both scheduled and short notice travel, duration from 1-4 weeks.
