Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
3-5 years of CAE Modeling experience:
Static & Dynamic FEA Modeling, analysis of modeling results and report writing
Strong knowledge of LS_DYNA
(Hyperworks, MSC-Marc, ANSYS, RADIOSS would be an asset)
Knowledge of Solid Mechanics, Material Strength and Heat Transfer
Skill in geometry clean – up, mesh adoption and programming in C or C ++
Knowledge of Thermal Dynamics would be an asset
Experience:
CAD design tools and file transfer
3-5 years in the automotive industry would be an asset
GD&T, DFMEA / PFMEA training
Strong research, analytical and root cause problem solving skills
Proactive and able to generate solution options for complex systems
Proficient using Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
Working in a fast paced JIT environment
Responsibilities:
Communicate with Customers, Designers, and fellow Analysts and participate in design review meetings as required to support CAE deliverables
Provide analytical results and modification recommendations in a clear and effective manner
Act as a lead Engineer on assigned R&D projects for new products; approve designs, reports and drawings
In conjunctions with other technical team members provide support and liaison with customers internal and external
Ensure all modeling activities meet established standard practices and support achievement of product design best practices
Develop and update design / analytical modeling best practices as identified
Utilize experience / knowledge to build analytical modeling skills across cross functional team
