Install, configure and deploy MS SQL Server
Upgrade, apply security patches and hot fixes as required
Collaborate with related IT teams to test and implement applications
Perform database refreshes from Production to non–production environments
Perform database related promotions to UAT and Production environments
Manage and document system configurations following ISO 27001 standards
Follow operational policies and processes that are compliant with ITIL standards
Participate in change control activities
Ensure alignment with ITS DBA best practices.
Provide Operational support of Data Analytics database environments.
Manage database security, roles and user role assignment according to firm’s security policy.
Perform data capacity planning, performance tuning, monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization of the databases.
Design backup and recovery strategies for both file stores and databases.
Develop and maintain documentation on data systems management and operational procedures.
Oversee and provide daily security compliance for the flow of data from clients to the Analytics team and to appropriate storage and online systems.
Work with the Data Analytics group in conjunction with ITS to help specify and bring new data systems online as needed.
Provide daily monitoring of the usage and security compliance of data analytics online systems including, hosted Web Applications data repositories.
Minimum 5–7 years supporting MS–SQL 2005/2008/2008 R2/SQL 2012
Completed a post–secondary program, preferably in computer science or a related discipline
Microsoft certification in SQL server an asset (MCDBA, MCITP, MCTS)
Experience with Microsoft High Availability technology such as Clustering, Database Mirroring, Replication, Log shipping, Always On etc.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues with Blocking, Dead locks, performance and replication
Sound knowledge in Transact SQL
Experience designing, implementing and supporting high availability enterprise systems
Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting incidents and performing root cause analysis
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks around changing priorities
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Excellent technical documentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
Must be a team player and demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm
