School of Applied Technology – North Campus

Starting: January, 2003

Rate of Pay: $19.02 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

This is a three month contract position, which will be re-assessed at the end of the term.

Duties: To assist instructors and provide guidance to students in motor, control, signal, fire alarm, construction, electronics and instrumentation labs Maintain and perform service and repairs on all equipment in the above labs. Set up and dismantle lab experiments; assist instructors in developing and constructing new experiments, and assist in writing lab manuals, self-tests, and guidelines for the experiments. Perform other related duties including review, revise, enforce lab safety; monitor & maintain inventory records of supplies & materials; assist suppliers in installation of equipment.

Qualifications: Appropriate 3 year college diploma or equivalent work experience. Five years industry experience desirable. Good organizational, communication, mechanical skills. Ability to apply diagnostic troubleshooting skills under minimum supervision. Ability to work to deadlines. General maintenance of Lab Equipment. On the job training will be provided.
