Most of us have a gigantic Engish vocabulary. For instanse, males who visit this form mostly know the word "pussy", but this word is not inclyuded in the famous New Chinese-English Dictionary. So what? We are still awkard in understanding and using English.
The true challenge for us is to study the usage of Engish words, instead of learning by heart their Chinese explanations. Taking the word "stuff" as an example, let's look at this:
--Sweetie, do you have more noodles?
--No, thanks. I am stuffed.
According to my observation, Chinese parents prefer to say "I am full" because they learnt "I am full" from the English textbooks in China. Nothing is wrong.
Another example goes like this:
---Mommy, I am starving.
From the very early years we learned English, we had no problem in saying "I am hungry." If we poll among Chinese English speakers, we would be very disappointed that how many of us can say "I am starving" without a translation in our minds.
