Similar to the situation in Canada, Walmarts are only one of many places to park overnight in Mexico. I am traveling with 2 other couples in a total of 3 RVs, and we are usually parking in RV parks (often called "trailer parks" here). This is partly because we are spending most of the days traveling to various places of interest in one of our towed (or towing) vehicles. We have visited old missions (down as much as 25 miles of 4-wheel-drive dirt roads), wineries, onyx and turquoise mines, and a cave with petroglyphs. We believe it is more appropriate (and safer) to leave the RVs in an RV park than a place like a Walmart or Pemex.
Desert scenery is fantastic here, with some types of cactus I have not seen before.
Pemex stations are often a good choice for RVers, as are many hotels and restaurants. Usually a small fee is expected. Security should be a consideration in picking a location.
While I have traveled in mainland Mexico several times, this our first trip in Baja. We are following the lead of our companions, who have been here often. We will be taking a ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan, then seeing Copper Canyon (from Creel) before returning. We go whale watching tomorrow morning early.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
