如果你的笔记本通过DESKTOP(双网卡?)

You can implement that function in Win98SE/ME/2000/XP. You loptop's IP is distributed by your Desktop. You'd better use provite reserve IP 192.168.xxx.yyy in the Desktop as a gateway

Thanks, but, if you use desktop as a DHCP server, you will never get a real 24.X IP. And, What do you mean "I 'd better..."? I don't think it's bad in the way I connect my conputers, if no additional fee charged.

I think the Notebook's IP is local IP. You can try to set a sever on the Notebook and let your friend trying to logon it.

Unfortunately, it CAN be accessed. The IP is proved real.

Your Current Home Networking Status: You are currently subscribing to (1) IP addresses out of a maximum of 5 IP addresses. Click Add IP below to order an additional IP address."

So you get more than one IP's bandwidth? Never mind. If so that's Rogers fault and do as sweetpotato said. And so, maybe use a hub can also get more than 1 IP?

The bandwidth is controled by cable modem (acting like a filtering bridge), so no matter how many IPs you get, they share the same bandwidth. And yes, using a hub is basically the same thing.
