if you stay there more than 5-7 years, you buy may save some, if you stay there 2-4 years , you rent is cheaper, also, do you know how to install it by yourself?if not add years

well, depend on how handy you are.I saw many DIY , I did it myself,just go to home depot ,buy the heater and take home and install it as per the installation guide.I used to be engineer and technician.you may hire technician.

自己买个新的，请有执照的人装。我算过新的连安装成本，大概相当于3-4年的租金。我的旧的原来是租的，有5年了，我还是花了$570+tax把它买下了，两年多不坏的话，就收回成本了。租太贵了。
