The person who the bill is addressed to has to sign the new contracts. So just call the original gas and electricity suppliers and tell them you signed no contracts with anyone else.You don't have to tell them that your spouse signed it , just mentioned that YOU didn't sign. And you want them to keep supplying you at the current rate.

summit xxx is a XXXX cheater. it happened on me years ago. my father was cheated to sign the agreement. I faxed a letter to cancel the contract, never heard from their feedback.anyway i left a copy of that as evidence just in case. fortunately i didn't get charged by them.
