枫下家园 / 钱财税务 / Purchased a house and rented it out in States last year. US CPA shows me a Net Operating Loss carryover. Can it offset the income earned in Canada? If so, where should I fill up in Turbotax? Thanks in advance.

Can my rental loss offset my other income in 2005 or carryover to 2016? Thanks! I am sorry that I don't know why I can't type Chinese character on the Rolia website now.

FYI, I have asked an accountant. She told that I can carryover the loss to next year by filling up the Non-capital loss carries forward in the Turbotax.

谢谢你的信息。 第一个问题有答案了吗?可以用美国投资损失减免加拿大的income or capital gain吗?另外想问你的每个会计师收费多少?谢谢

IRS forces depreciation of the property based on 27.5 years. that could be why you have a net operation loss. if you do have operation loss excluding deprecation, most likely you could claim the loss in CRA filing.
